Job Description
• Work with women and children fleeing domestic violence.
• Part-time (10-28 hours per week)
• Nights. Weekends. Holidays. Occasional days as well.

• Hotline calls; Clear clients as needed; Intakes
• Attend to client physical needs.
• Maintain a safe and clean environment
• Alert
• Good boundaries
• Dependable
• High degree of trustworthiness
• Good communication skills
• Ability to take charge of difficult situations
• Good with kids
• Understanding of domestic violence and its effects on families
• Calm under pressure
• Good at prioritizing
• Quick and willing to learn
• Compassionate
• Attend initial 24 hour training, CPR/1st Aid and continuous trainings throughout employment.

• High School Diploma or GED required

Working for the CWCIC at the shelter is a unique experience you won’t regret. You will attend to victims of domestic violence by helping them with daily needs, problem solving, safety planning, and listening. You will help hotline callers in their time of need helping them find resources to fit their situation. You will be on the front lines helping victims get their life back and on their way to a better life. You will hold babies, play with children, play games with tweens, as well as help victims gain perspective and understanding. It’s a job that is as rewarding as it is challenging.
