Project Manager
Overview: Provide hands on management, over site and customer correspondence for each assigned project from award through erection.
Qualifications: Bachelors degree in construction management, civil engineering or related field. Previous experience required in steel fabrication and/or bridge, highway or steel construction. Possess a strong knowledge of blue print reading and have extensive working experience in Excel. Have experience in nesting pieces into large plate sizes for structural mill orders. Have CAD experience. Experienced in Word. Possess effective written and oral communication skills. Ability to multi:task.
Responsibility: To direct or perform all aspects of Production Planning, Purchasing, Shop Detail Drawing Management and certain aspects of Quality Control for each assigned project.
Brief Description of Duties:
(1) Make an in:depth study of the design drawings, specifications, fracture critical members, paint and special quality requirements of each assigned project prior to the beginning of that project.
(2) Nest small parts into mill order quantities. Prepare steel mill and supplier purchase orders, obtain pricing, purchase and expedite material delivery.
(3) Prepare cut lists and CNC files for shop operations.
(4) Obtain pricing, sublet and coordinate shop drawing production through outside detailers.
(3) Keep a permanent job file on each project.
(4) Coordinate the flow of information between the appropriate departments.
(5) Report project status, problem areas and solution options at weekly Production/Quality Management meetings.
(6) Prepare and submit the following for customer or owner approval:
(a) Welding Procedures
(b) Quality Control Procedures
(c) Special Fabrication Procedures, i.e., heat curving, heat straightening, paint and sublet agencies, NDT procedures, etc.
(d) Procedures for the correction of nonconforming work as rejected by outside inspectors and/or our own quality control inspector. Insure corrective action on non:conforming material.
(7) Assist QC department as required.
(9) Provide for and schedule inbound and outbound freight through common carriers and/or our sister company : Mountain Pacific Transport.
(10) Coordinate project erection operations with customer and sublet erector .
(11) Report directly to the Vice President of Operations.

Shop Facilities
Our facility of 34 acres is located on I:15 and 40 miles south of Salt Lake City in Lindon, Utah. Manufacturing Buildings consist of a 85,000 sq ft (1,000 ft long) main shop under crane way, 9,000 square foot blast cleaning booth/prime painting shop and a 7,000 sq ft finish painting shop. The overhead crane lifting capacity is 145 tons in the main bridge shop bay. Our shop is fully equipped with modern world class CNC automatic burning, welding, drilling and NDT testing equipment. We have designed and constructed exclusive specialized bridge fabricating machinery to aid in our manufacturing bridge girders.
Our capability in fabricating bridge structures ranges from small wide flange bridges to large plate girder, trapezoidal box girder, cable stayed and arch girder bridges. We have fabricated single piece girders in excess of 105 tons, 15 feet deep and 218 feet long. Individual bridge projects have ranged in size from 20 tons to 58,000 tons.
