Under the direction of the Geomatics Program Coordinator and the Chair of the Department of Engineering Graphics and Design Technology; follows approved course descriptions, outlines, and objectives; prepares instructional materials; evaluates student learning through appropriate assessments; maintains a student-oriented engaged learning approach to education, and maintains accurate student reports. May teach lower and upper division courses in general surveying principles and practices, geodesy, boundary law, surveying legal principles, surveying US public lands, public land records, photogrammetry, control surveys, construction and route surveys, land development, planning, platting, measurement analysis, surveying adjustments, or surveying history, or other Geomatics courses as neeeded. Required Qualifications Graduation from an accredited college with an AS or Associate of Applied Science degree in the subject matter or a closely related area. Preferred Qualifications Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Masters degree in the subject matter or a closely related area and one year of teaching or closely related professional experience. OR Graduation from an accredited 4-year college or university with a Bachelors degree in the subject matter or a closely related area and two years of teaching or closely related professional experience. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Extensive knowledge of student management, motivation, and evaluation. Effective human relations skills and communication techniques. Skill in public speaking and report writing. Pay Range DOQ www.uvu.edu/hr/compensation for salary schedules
